PCOS cures….treatments?
i have pcos syndrome and i am only 16, the doctor prescribed me birth control pills, i have been using them for 6 months and see no help with the side effects. she says it helped with my testosterone levels, but i still have facial hair, and a lot of hair loss..do herbs like saw palmetto really work? and what other kinds would help me with this situation??? thank you
Please stop the birth control pills. Doctors pop them like candy to those of us with PCOS as a cure all, but they’re actually a band aid fix….if that. Studies have shown that they worsen PCOS and insulin resistance.
They MAY help with high testosterone levels but the side affects, the fact they worsen other PCOS issues and the health risks they cause doesn’t equal a bit lower testosterone.
There is no cure for PCOS, but there are other things you can do to lower your testosterone and control it.
